I'm truly pleased to offer for sale this somewhat mysterious pale "Wedgwood" matte blue jasperware/stoneware teapot with all the characteristics of a Wedgwood, except the makers marks. Instead, there is simply an "H" embossed on the inner lip/rim of the lid and "H781" on the bottom, along with handwritten "937" and a smaller mark that resembles a horseshoe. In any case, this is simply a gorgeous teapot -- regardless of who made it where and when. It's hemispheric, with the lower half featuring textured weave in all white and the top half featuring absolutely divine highly-textured ivy on that quintessential pale matte "Wedgwood" blue base. The lid also features some gorgeous textured acanthus and a finial. The teapot measures 9.5" wide (to include the handle and spout) x 6.5" deep x 5.5 tall to the top of the finial.
It weighs 2 pounds 3 ounces. It's in excellent condition, although there is some slight discoloration (perhaps tea stain) to the white on the spout and in the lower hemisphere. Depending on the lighting, the discoloration is unnoticeable. My goodness, what a spectacular teapot! The cost on the main page is not always the best, so choose the best option during checkout.
